Pumpkin Party

Pumpkin Party

This week at the Kids Club in Harlem (10/1) and the Bronx (10/2), we saw kids light up at ‘carving’ their own fabric pumpkin. We organized the activity for participants of all ages. Children could participate in drawing, cutting out, and designing their own pumpkin (and one kid opted to make a squash, too!). They had a blast using paint and markers to create their fall pumpkins. Some children went for a simple, realistic design, while others let their imagination run wild with all sorts of decorations to make their pumpkins come to life!

Materials:

  • Orange fabric
  • Scissors
  • Paint
  • Paintbrushes
  • Markers

Pumpkins and squash are packed with health benefits, including those related to immune, cardiovascular, and metabolic health, skin health, and vision and eye health. You can read more at The Nutrition Insider. The kids brought home pumpkins full of character and minds full of nutritious knowledge. We are so glad we could kick off the beginning of November with this activity!
