Uptown and Boogie Healthy Project
Uptown & Boogie Healthy Project 501(c)(3) expands access to fresh, nutritious food and bicycle education within two New York City neighborhoods – Harlem and The Bronx. Our programming creates opportunities for low-income community residents in under-resourced areas to learn how to lead healthier lifestyles through food and fitness.

Our Values
Empowering communities in Upper Manhattan (Uptown) and The Bronx (Boogie), our mission is to enhance physical and mental well-being through nutritional programming while championing local producers and businesses and offering accessible micro-mobility education. Our vision is to cultivate healthier neighborhoods by expanding access to farm-fresh food and promoting micro-mobility for significantly improved community well-being.

Since 2021
Our History
In June 2021, Bronx Park East Community Supported Agriculture was a pilot project focusing on small-scale implementation of accessing fresh food from local farms to Pelham Parkway and Central Harlem to support nutrition equity. We expanded to Bronx Park East Farmers Market & CSA in The Bronx and Uptown Good Food (farm stand) in Central Harlem.

Our Founder & Executive Director
Judith "Judi" Desire, the founder of Uptown & Boogie Healthy Project, is dedicated to providing crucial resources and social activities to promote physical and mental health in the Upper Manhattan and Bronx communities.
In 2021, Judi founded the Bronx Park East Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) as a pilot project to expand residents' access to farm-fresh food. Due to its success, the program expanded to include the Bronx Park East Farmers Market & CSA, Uptown Good Food Farmers Market & Farm Stand in Central Harlem, and White Plains Road Farmers Market in Williamsbridge, Bronx.
Judi’s extensive experience and passion for promoting urban food access, supporting minority agricultural communities, and establishing sustainable farm businesses in New York City make her a remarkable advocate for health and community well-being.
