Matching Superfoods!

Matching Superfoods!

This Sunday, 9/28, we had the joy of hosting a family activity at Bronx Brady Playground, where kids and parents came together to learn, play, and celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month. It was a day filled with curiosity, laughter, and hands-on learning about the power of fruits and vegetables in keeping our bodies strong and healthy.

Children explored the vitamins and minerals found in everyday produce and discovered how these nutrients support multiple body systems - from building strong bones to fueling our hearts, brains, and energy levels. They played an interactive matching game, where each child picked vegetables to match their cards, deepening their knowledge while having fun.

To reward their participation and excitement, kids received sticker prizes and Health Bucks, which can be used toward fresh produce at local markets. Parents joined in the celebration, learning alongside their children and sharing conversations about healthy eating in daily life.

Most importantly, this event honored National Hispanic Heritage Month, recognizing the cultural traditions that highlight fresh produce, family meals, and community. By weaving nutrition education with cultural pride, we created a space where children could learn about health while celebrating heritage.

We’re grateful to every family who came out and made the event so special. Your support continues to help us grow a healthier, stronger Bronx community.

Stay tuned for our next activity, and don’t forget to bring your curiosity and love for learning!
